Bring the unmistakable flavour of a proper South African Durban curry into your kitchen with Werner’s Original Durban Curry Spice Mix. Aromatic, warming and full of spice, this blend combines masalas, turmeric, black pepper, cardamom, chilli and traditional whole spices to create a rich, deeply flavoured curry. Suitable for beef, lamb or chicken, one pack makes a curry serving four — perfect with rice and all the classic accompaniments.

Ingredients: Various masalas, turmeric, cassia bark, bay leaves, black pepper, cloves, cardamom, salt & chilli powder.

Allergens: May contain traces of NUTS, MUSTARD or SESAME SEEDS.

How to prepare: Designed for 500g beef, lamb or chicken. The pack recipe also uses potatoes, tomatoes, garlic and fresh ginger. Coat the meat with the powdered spices, gently fry the whole spices in oil, add the meat and brown, then add the remaining ingredients and enough water to cover. Simmer for approximately 60 minutes, adding more water if required.

Serving suggestion: Serves 4. Serve with brown or white rice, mango chutney, sliced banana, dried ground coconut or a fresh tomato, onion and cucumber salad.
