A South African pantry staple, Lion Red Speckled Beans are hearty, versatile beans with a rich, satisfying flavour. Traditionally paired with samp for classic samp and beans, they’re also brilliant in stews, curries, soups and casseroles, or simply seasoned and served as a wholesome side dish.

Ingredients: Red speckled beans.

How to prepare: Rinse well. Soak in twice as much boiled water for 1 hour, drain, then cover with fresh water and cook for approximately 1 hour or until tender. Add salt and other ingredients during the final 30 minutes of cooking.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.
