About This Product

Enjoy something a little different with our Antelope Burgers, made from lean antelope meat and expertly prepared for a rich, distinctive flavour. Delicately gamey yet surprisingly mild, antelope is a fantastic introduction to exotic meats and offers a delicious alternative to traditional beef burgers.

Each pack contains two 114g burgers, which are par-cooked before freezing to lock in quality and make preparation quick and convenient. Whether you're firing up the braai or cooking indoors, these burgers are perfect for an easy gourmet meal.

Flavour Profile

  • Flavour: Mild, slightly gamey with a clean finish.
  • Texture: Tender and juicy.
  • Leanness: Leaner than traditional beef burgers.

Perfect for: Braais, BBQs, family dinners and anyone looking to try something new.

Defrosting Instructions

For the best results, thaw overnight in the refrigerator.

Once defrosted, remove from the fridge 15–20 minutes before cooking.

As this product is supplied par-cooked, it only needs reheating thoroughly before serving.

Do not refreeze once thawed.

Best Cooking Methods

Antelope Burgers can be cooked on:

  • Charcoal braai
  • Barbecue
  • Grill
  • Frying pan
  • Air fryer

Cooking Guide

As these burgers are par-cooked, they simply need to be heated through until piping hot.

Pan Fry

Cook over a medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side.

Grill or Braai

Cook for 4–5 minutes per side over a medium heat.

Air Fryer

Cook at 190°C for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through.

Ensure the burgers reach a core temperature of 75°C before serving.

Chef's Tips

  • Avoid cooking over very high heat, as this can dry the burger out.
  • Turn only once where possible for an even crust.
  • Rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
  • Toast your burger buns while the burgers rest for the perfect finish.

Build the Ultimate Antelope Burger

Serve with:

  • Brioche burger buns
  • Mrs H.S. Ball's Original Chutney
  • Caramelised onions
  • Mature cheddar
  • Crisp lettuce and sliced tomato
  • A side of Simba Chips

Wine Pairing

A South African Cinsault or light Pinotage pairs beautifully with antelope, complementing its delicate game flavour without overpowering it.

Braai Master's Tip 🇿🇦

Because these burgers are already par-cooked, your goal is to heat them through while developing a delicious caramelised crust. Cook over a medium heat rather than a fierce flame to keep them juicy and full of flavour.
